Covid’s over…

…couldn’t be further from the truth.

The impact Covid had on our mental health, is insane.

And the impact Covid had on our children has been massive.

We are finding that children’s social skills, behaviours and emotional responses are much more challenging than we’ve ever seen.

Children do not have the strategies to self regulate. 

Behaviour management in classrooms has become such hard work. 

Children in Key Stage 1, are coming to school in nappies.

Anxiety and the lack of resilience in our children is even more prevalent than we’ve ever seen it.

It’s okay to have these needs in our classrooms. We as teachers are caring and empathetic to our children.

What is not okay however, are the expectations & pressures on teachers to still achieve certain grades and meet key objectives when so much of their energy is focusing towards providing emotional support for our children.
