Managing Time
Managing your time can be really difficult.
Whilst there are many strategies we can put in place, time management often goes beyond these.
We can think about scheduling techniques, lists & implementing organisational changes but these are really difficult to have an impact if there are fundamental challenges we face.
How often have we bought a new diary, spent ages on a new timetable or given ourselves time frames to work within?
And then how often do these tools work well to start with but then we slip back into old habits?
This may be because there are much deeper elements we need to try to understand first.
Perhaps we need to look at the reasons we are finding it hard to stick to them.
This can be hard because sometimes it’s not obvious or we just don’t know.
Sometimes, ironically, we feel we don’t have the time to try and understand. We just need a solution quickly.
For those of you who find time management difficult, try and think about:
What are you like as a person?
What are your values?
What is it that you find difficult about setting boundaries?
What is holding you back when it comes to delegating?
You’re not alone.
It is really hard but time management can be easy. It can be done well. But there has to be time put in to begin with to understand yourself better.
